Meet Peter
Peter Blain has called Aylmer home for over 40 years and has spent that time actively contributing to the community.
For 38 years, he has volunteered as a sound and lighting technician at the Old Town Hall Theatre, supporting countless performances and events. He has also served ten years on the Aylmer Fair Board, the Aylmer Optimist Cub, four years as Chair of the Aylmer Performing Arts Council, and has been involved with the Aylmer Community Players. In 2017, he proudly contributed to Aylmer’s Canada 150 celebrations.
Peter’s background supporting skilled trades, infrastructure, and construction—combined with decades of hands-on volunteer work—has given him a practical, grounded understanding of community needs.
He believes in open government, respectful dialogue, and decisions based on clear, accurate information. He also values cooperation—between municipalities, organizations, and residents.
Peter is committed to a community-first approach focused on planning responsibly, protecting taxpayers, and making decisions that serve Aylmer today while preparing for the future.

Candidate Profile
I am a community-rooted candidate with deep ties to Aylmer through the Old Town Hall Theatre, community arts, festivals, and ongoing civic involvement.
Over the past two years, I haven’t just followed Council decisions—I’ve questioned them, broken them down, and shared them in plain language so residents can see what is really going on.
If elected, I will serve as a true watchdog on Council—scrutinizing budgets, demanding transparency, and holding decision-makers accountable.
Because taxpayers deserve more than explanations after the fact—they deserve clarity, honesty, and a voice before decisions are made.

40 years of history
May 5, 2026:
As of today, I’m stepping up and putting my name forward as a candidate for Aylmer Town Council.
May 9, 2026: Over the past few years, I’ve spent a lot of time listening, asking questions, and trying to understand where Aylmer is headed.
This video is about something bigger than one issue.
It’s about growth, priorities, and making sure Aylmer is prepared for the future—not stuck going in circles.
I believe people are looking for practical solutions, better cooperation, and decisions grounded in facts.
